TOP TIPS

  • Pack your bag in advance – don’t leave it until the last minute

You’ve booked a swanky boutique hotel for your wedding night. But remembering to pack your ‘first night’ overnight bag can easily slip through the net in the midst of wedding-planning chaos. And it will be the last thing you’ll want to be left doing (undoubtedly in a panic!) on the morning of your wedding.

So – for one less thing to worry about on the day – be sure to get it packed in advance. And don’t forget to organise for someone (be it your groom, dad, the best man, or one of the ushers) to drop it off at the hotel so it’s ready and waiting for you… otherwise you’ll be checking out in your wedding dress the morning after the night before!

Once you’ve got your overnight bag sorted, don’t forget your all-important bag for the wedding itself. Give it to one of your bridesmaids, or a trusted member of the bridal party, for the ceremony – then find a safe place for it at your venue for the rest of the day. Your wedding day clutch bag essentials include:

  • Your phone

  • Lip balm

  • Lipstick

  • Travel size deodorant

  • Mini perfume

  • Compact mirror

  • Plasters (don’t forget you’ll likely be wearing a brand new pair of shoes)

  • Safety pins (for any wardrobe mishaps)

  • Gum / mints

  • Cotton buds

  • Tissues / handkerchief (if you’re likely to shed a tear!)

  • Kirby grips

  • Any medication
